Hill & Hayes Espresso Bar is a fictional café that I made up for practice. The goal was to give the café a logotype and branding that gave the impression of heritage and stability, while at the same time not looking worn-down. This resulted in the use of a circle lock-up for product labeling, giving the impression of a stamp, as well as two more modern lock-ups used for print and signage.
The logo is fairly generic when compared to other logos of the same style, so I wanted to use colors (especially the orange) to give it a bit of an edge.
The Hill & Hayes logotype draws inspiration from weather beaten logos of old brands. I ended up with two different versions that I think would work for a place like this.
These are a selection of mockups that displays the logotype in a way that it could be used.
